In February we hosted our first AHK Business Breakfast in 2025, attended by over 70 members and partners from our community. The event commenced with a welcome address from Dr. Martin Henkelmann, the newly appointed CEO of the AHK, who introduced himself and provided a brief overview of recent activities at the AHK. Ute Brunn, Deputy Head of Mission at the German Consulate General in Dubai, followed with a political update and the latest news from the consulate.
The program featured several important discussions on relevant topics. Heena Nazir, Director at Germany Trade & Invest GmbH, delivered an insightful economic outlook for 2025, offering valuable predictions to help businesses strategically position themselves.
This was followed by Graham Griffiths, Head of Geopolitical Risk and Government Engagement at HSBC, who explored the potential implications of the second Trump administration on global and regional markets and policy decisions.
Our "Legal Corner" highlighted TME Legal with Omar Sami and Sebastian Luermann, who provided crucial legal insights for businesses regarding Emiratization and the new data protection regulations in the UAE.
We also welcomed our newest Supporting Member, Qatar Airways, represented by Senior Account Manager Mohamed Wahid.
A big thank you to all the speakers and guests for joining us.
