On 1 October, we welcomed around 80 guests to our AHK Business Breakfast at the DHL Innovation Center in Dubai, bringing together AHK members and business leaders for a morning of insights, discussion and exchange.
Our CEO, Dr. Martin Henkelmann, opened the session by welcoming our guests and sharing an update on the AHK’s recent activities, as well as upcoming initiatives and events.
We then gained valuable insights into the DHL Logistics Trend Radar, presented by Irina Albanese, Vice President and Global Head of DHL Innovation Centers. This was followed by an economic update from Simon Ballard, Managing Director & Chief Economist at FAB Global Markets, who provided an overview of the broader macroeconomic environment before taking a closer look at the current economic situation in the UAE and the outlook for 2027.
The morning continued with an engaging panel discussion on how companies can turn innovation and technology into practical solutions and build smarter, more resilient and competitive businesses.
The discussion brought together four industry perspectives: Irina Albanese from DHL, Marwan Zeineddine from SAP UAE, Per Johansson from Robert Bosch Middle East FZE, and Simon Ballard from FAB Global Markets.
We were also delighted to welcome H.E. Dr. Tobias Tunkel, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to the UAE, who joined us for the closing of the event.
