Cross-Border Training – From the Philippines to the Workshops of the UAE

The PAVE program (Porsche Aftersales Vocational Education) is a unique international training initiative that opens doors for young Filipino talents to pursue careers in the premium automotive sector – with a strong focus on quality, hands-on learning, and future readiness.

Launched by Porsche in collaboration with the Porsche Training and Recruitment Center Philippines (PTRC-PH), the program is implemented jointly with the German Chambers of Commerce Abroad (AHKs) in the Philippines and the United Arab Emirates. The goal is to provide a high-quality, dual vocational training in automotive mechatronics, following the proven standards of the German vocational training system.

What makes it special: The program is structured across borders. It begins with intensive theoretical and practical training at PTRC-PH in Manila and is complemented by brand-specific on-the-job training (OJT) at Porsche service centers in the UAE. This combination of learning phases in the home country and real-world international experience equips participants with the skills needed to meet the demands of the modern aftersales sector.

After approximately two years, the program concludes with a B-level examination, conducted under the supervision of AHK and in accordance with the standards of the Association of German Chambers of Commerce and Industry (DIHK).

PAVE not only delivers top-level technical skills – it also emphasizes intercultural competence, discipline, teamwork, and personal development. The program opens up new career opportunities for young people in the Philippines, while supplying the UAE market with highly qualified professionals for its demanding automotive workshop sector.

The German-Emirati Joint Council for Industry and Commerce (AHK) supports the program at an organizational, assessment, and strategic level – as part of its commitment to promoting vocational education in the region. PAVE stands as a best-practice example of successful cooperation between industry, educational institutions, and international partners to develop the skilled workforce needed for the future of mobility.
