From October 16th - 19th 2023 AHK has received a delegation from Lusatia – a region from the north-eastern part of Germany that is into the transition from coal mining to green technologies.
The visit to the UAE was an initiative by Germany Trade & Invest (GTAI), the Cottbus Chamber of Commerce and Industry and MinGenTec (Mining & Generation Technology – Made in Germany) and was part of the program for the internationalization of regions in structural change (ISW Program) funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action. The ISW Program is a joint task of the several German federal states and GTAI.
GTAI is the economic development agency of the Federal Republic of Germany and supports German companies setting up in foreign markets, promotes Germany as a business location and assists foreign companies setting up in Germany. The initiative MinGenTec comprises companies and scientific institutions in the competence field of mining and energy industry in Berlin, Brandenburg and Saxony. MinGenTec stands for the combined expertise of the Lusatian energy industry and research landscape.
In addition to group appointments with Khalifa University and Hub 71 in Abu Dhabi, Ras al Khaimah Municipality as well as Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), promising one-on-one meetings were also on the agenda.
