AHK Business Breakfast Dubai

Our first AHK Business Breakfast Dubai after the summer break took place on September 18 at Dubai CommerCity. 

Oliver Oehms, CEO of the AHK, welcomed the guests and informed about current activities and projects of the AHK. H.E. Sybille Pfaff, Consul General of the Federal Republic of Germany in Dubai, covered political updates and highlighted developments in the framework of COP 28. High ranking German delegations are expected to visit the UAE during the climate conference. 

Dubai CommerCity, the host of the event, was represented by Mitch Bittermann, Senior Vice President Commercial who gave an overview about
the freezone and its services. Dubai CommerCity is the region’s first and leading free zone dedicated to digital commerce & ecosystem services.

As part of our member corner the company Blacklane was introduced by Miroslav Stefanovic, Head of Sales. Blackline was founded in Germany and  provides a chauffeur portal connecting people to professional chauffeurs via their mobile app and web. Besides being an AHK member the company is also tenant of Dubai CommerCity with their fleet of electric vehicles. 

Ruba Nuseibeh, Research Manager at Germany Trade and Invest (GTAI) gave an update on the GCC economic outlook. 

Last but not least, Tarek Antaki, Legal Consulant at Rödl & Partner, dived in into the topics of the newly introduced emiratization quota, the
obligation to keep an ultimate beneficial ownership register as well as the recent changes to the inheritance laws.
