The United Arab Emirates is one of the most dynamic economies in the Gulf region and offers significant opportunities for German companies in the mechanical engineering sector. According to GTAI, German exports to the UAE increased by 16.1% in the first seven months of 2025, continuing a positive upward trend. The main driving force behind this development is the mechanical engineering industry.
The UAE is actively strengthening its industrial sector and productivity through the introduction of advanced technologies, which is a declared national priority. To support this, the country offers attractive investment frameworks, including favourable licensing models, free zone structures, and targeted incentive programmes. In industrial production, key focus areas include energy efficiency, digitalisation, sustainability, and climate neutrality.
Key sectors within mechanical engineering include:
- Construction industry
- Metal and materials industry
- Logistics
- Food and packaging industry
As a result, there is strong demand for companies offering solutions in areas such as conveyor technology, robotics, process automation, drive and automation systems, heat treatment, maintenance systems, plastics processing, warehouse automation, and sensor technologies.
This market entry delegation builds on the experience and identified needs of a company mission to the United Arab Emirates initiated by the Chamber of Crafts Münster in January 2025. The 2026 programme will not only include visits to technology parks, advanced industrial zones, manufacturing companies, and research institutions, but will also focus on deepening relationships with potential business and distribution partners.
As part of a dedicated presentation event, participating companies from North Rhine-Westphalia will have the opportunity to showcase their products and services to a selected professional audience, followed by a cooperation exchange format enabling individual business meetings.
The current places for the delegation are already fully booked; however, interested companies may be placed on a waiting list.
