AHK Qatar was proud to support German industry at the Recycling Towards Sustainability Conference and Exhibition (RTS 2025), held under the patronage of the Qatari Ministry of Municipality from 25–26 June 2025 in Doha.

As the Gulf region scales up investments in sustainable infrastructure, RTS 2025 served as a dynamic platform for stakeholders across sectors to engage on cutting-edge developments in waste management, circular economy, and resource efficiency. The program highlighted key topics including waste treatment technologies and infrastructure, recycling in construction and demolition, extended producer and supplier responsibility, innovation in circular economy as well as the role of education and academic research in driving sustainability.

Against this backdrop, German technology and expertise were in high demand. In response, AHK Qatar organized a dedicated exhibition space for the German companies, showcasing solutions from German firms. A particular highlight was the contribution of Mr. Sebastian Frisch from Blackforest Solutions and Mr. Christophe Pautrat from Landbell Group, who shared valuable insights during the conference’s session on Extended Producer and Supplier Responsibility—reinforcing Germany’s international reputation in regulatory innovation and circular economy leadership.

To complement the formal program, AHK Qatar hosted a networking dinner on 25 June, offering the visiting delegation and German company representatives based in Qatar an opportunity for informal exchange. The evening fostered dialogue on market trends, cultural insights, and potential avenues for cooperation.

With initiatives such as Qatar’s planned Waste-to-Energy Center, the local market is rapidly evolving—presenting real opportunities for German companies to contribute solutions in green technology, waste reduction, and environmental services. AHK Qatar remains committed to supporting German engagement in Qatar’s sustainability journey and to driving forward long-term partnerships in the fields of waste management, circular economy, and climate-conscious infrastructure development. With this in mind AHK Qatar is cooperating with the Qatari Ministry of Municipality planning to bring a delegation to next year’s IFAT in Munich.
