What is DER IMPULS?
DER IMPULS is an exclusive mentoring program by the German-Emirati Joint Council for Industry and Commerce (AHK), specifically designed to connect advanced Emirati university students and young professionals with experienced executives from German companies based in the UAE.
Launched in 2021 in cooperation with the German Embassy, the initiative aims to strengthen economic collaboration between the United Arab Emirates and Germany and to promote dialogue between emerging talents and seasoned decision-makers.
All mentors are senior leaders from German companies operating in the UAE who are eager to share their knowledge, experience, and networks – offering guidance, access, and inspiration.
What Does the Program Offer?
- Exclusive 1:1 mentoring over a period of six months
- Regular personal meetings and individual support
- Insights into German corporate culture, career paths, and decision-making processes
- Participation in workshops, networking events, and company visits
- Exchange on topics such as career planning, personal branding, leadership, and intercultural collaboration
Target Group
Mentees:
- Emirati university students from the 3rd year onward
- Young Emiratis at the beginning of their professional careers
- Fields of study: Business, Engineering, IT, Law, and more
- Motivation and openness for exchange and personal development
Mentors:
- Senior managers, managing directors, and experienced executives
- Employed by German companies based in the United Arab Emirates – past participating companies include SAP, BMW, ZF, Hella, Lufthansa, Caparol, Siemens Energy, among others
- Committed to supporting young talent, fostering development, and promoting intercultural dialogue
