Healthcare Industry Service Centre
Northern Germany, including the Federal States Hamburg, Schleswig-Holstein and Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, is home to more than 500 MedTech, BioTech and Pharma companies, among them global players such as Dräger Medical, Olympus, Eppendorf or Weinmann.
Furthermore 17 internationally recognized scientific research institutes such as the Research Center Borstel and the Bernhard-Nocht-Institute are located in the region. The University hospitals of Hamburg and Schleswig-Holstein and numerous specialized hospitals offer state-of-theart healthcare.
The direct link between science and research as well as the broad clinical application of medical innovations makes Northern Germany, together with its companies, an ideal location for life sciences.
To connect the expertise of Northern Germany with the GCC region is the main task of our Healthcare Industry Service Centre which is an initiative of the Hamburg Ministry of Health, Norgenta North German Life Science Agency and the European Social Fund.
In January 2012, “The Healthcare Industry Service Centre” was inaugurated in Dubai by the Minister of Health and Consumer Protection of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg, H.E. Cornelia Prüfer-Storcks. The Service Centre is funded the Hamburg Ministry of Health and Consumer Protection, Norgenta North German Life Science Agency and the European Social Fund. It operates under the umbrella of the Hamburg Representative Office UAE which has been active in the GCC since 2006.
