AHK Sustainability Series x Climate Talks
Recapping a transformative afternoon, jointly organized by the German Embassy and the German Emirati Joint Council for Industry & Commerce (AHK), at the AHK Sustainability Series x Climate Talks event on Decarbonization in Industry, held on Wednesday, 11. October 2023.
The session unfolded with a warm welcome by HE Ambassador Schoenfelder and Oliver Oehms, CEO of the German Emirati Joint Council for Industry & Commerce (AHK). The insightful keynote speech by HE Omar Ahmed Suwaina Alsuwaidi, Undersecretary at the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology (MoIAT), set the tone for discussions on driving sustainability in industry. Helmut von Struve, CEO of Siemens Middle East and the UAE, explained how digital transformation can accelerate growth in the Green Industry with his insightful presentation on the topic. The subsequent panel discussion on "Decarbonization in Industry" brought together industry leaders – Mehtap Ak-Sisman (Commerzbank AG), Ivano Iannelli (Aluminium EGA), Dr. Faye Al Hersh (MASDAR), Helmut von Struve (Siemens) and Jens Dallendoerfer (Wilo Group). Oliver Oehms moderated the panel on how the companies tackle the decarbonization and delving into key insights and perspectives.
