As part of the Emirati-German Energy and Climate Partnership, we proudly hosted the 9th Emirati-German Energy Day on the 13th of January, which focused on the theme: ‘Enabling Flexibility for Successful Renewable Energy Integration’.
This partnership serves as a dynamic platform for dialogue between public and private stakeholders to drive meaningful progress in the energy transition.
The event brought together distinguished speakers, including H.E. Sharif Al Olama (Moei UAE), H.E. Stefan Wenzel (Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action), and H.E. Ahmed Ali Al-Ebrahim (GCC Interconnection Authority (GCCIA)), alongside industry leaders from the renowned companies Siemens Energy, EWEC, Elia Grid International (EGI) and Fluence.
They all shared their expertise on renewable energy integration, power system flexibility, and innovative approaches to decarbonization.
A highlight of the day was the interactive panel discussion, which featured an exchange of ideas among experts. The session explored the challenges and opportunities in integrating renewables into grid systems and emphasized the need for collaboration in developing robust and flexible power networks.
By addressing ambitious goals such as achieving net zero by 2050 and tripling renewable energy deployment by 2030, the event underscored the critical importance of partnerships in advancing global sustainability efforts.
A big thank you goes out to all the speakers and panelists:
