On June 28th, Florian Walther, Consultant DEinternational & Pakistan Representative at the German Emirati Joint Council for Industry and Commerce (AHK), embarked on his inaugural visit to Karachi, Pakistan. The visit aimed to establish connections within the AHK network and gain a firsthand understanding of Pakistan's business landscape. Karachi, as the business capital, was the initial focus, with subsequent visits planned for Islamabad and Lahore.

During the trip, discussions with industry leaders such as SAP and BASF highlighted the potential Pakistan holds for German enterprises, despite current challenges. The key takeaway from these conversations was the necessity for a consistent commitment and a long-term perspective to succeed in this market.

A standout moment of the visit was to a factory in Balochistan owned by Mehmud Dawood, Honorary Advisor to the Board. The visit showcased impressive quality of work and a strong commitment to positioning Pakistan on the global map, demonstrating the country’s capabilities and ambitions.

Looking ahead, there is anticipation for further exploration of opportunities within Pakistan and continued support for German companies navigating this promising market. The groundwork laid in Karachi sets a positive tone for future engagements, highlighting the potential for fruitful collaborations and long-term success.
