On Monday, the German Emirati Joint Council for Industry & Commerce (AHK) held the first Business Breakfast following the summer break. As the event kicked off, Oliver Oehms, bid farewell to over 80 guests as it was his last day at AHK UAE. The day was filled with informative sessions and updates, starting with H.E. Sybille Pfaff, Consul General of the Federal Republic of Germany in Dubai, who provided insights into recent political developments and activities of the consulate.
The agenda was packed with topics of interest, such as the Economic Update with a focus on Saudi Arabia, presented by Ruba Nuseibeh from Germany Trade & Invest GmbH. Dr. Juri Suehrer from PwC Middle East then delved into the opportunities for investing in Vision 2030 in KSA.
The panel discussion on Saudi Arabia brought together industry experts Ammar Alul, Yasser Nagi, Oliver Rohde, and Dr. Juri Suehrer to discuss both the opportunities and challenges of entering the KSA market. With their wealth of experience and long business history in Saudi Arabia, the panelists highlighted the fantastic potential that the market holds for investors.
Closing out the event, Tarek Antaki from Roedl & Partner shared insights on manager rights and obligations in Saudi Law, providing attendees with a comprehensive overview of what to expect when doing business in this country. The session ended with Abdulla Al Hamed from Emirates Development Bank introducing the financing solutions available to support businesses looking to expand into the region.
