The German Business Council Qatar is organizing a GBCQ Members’ Exclusive event: “Siemens Tram Site Visit at Education City” on 27th March between 10am and 12pm.

The members will have a briefing about safety measures on site followed by visiting and driving the tram.

Siemens has been assigned to build the new tram system that operates without overhead contact lines for Education City, the university center in Doha, Qatar.

The Qatar Foundation Tram is the first battery-powered tram system and the first rail project of its kind in Qatar. This project is located within Education City where the ‘Park and Ride’ scheme is being adopted, aiming to provide a more efficient and sustainable method of transportation, prohibiting the use of cars and vehicles and reducing overall traffic flow.
