E.ON and Masdar establish Joint VentureThe German energy corporation E.ON and Masdar, a fully-owned subsidiary of the Mubadala Development Company that is focusing on renewable energy announced on January 19 the establishment of a new joint venture called E.ON Masdar Integrated Carbon (EMIC). The joint venture will implement projects to reduce carbon emissions by e.g. reconstructing power plants and thereby reverting to the full value chain of both companies. Therefore EMIC is capable to develop, finance and implement projects in the Middle East, Asia and Africa. The reduced emissions will be monetized and traded on the carbon market.
